Top Chiu Chow Cuisine

Honestly, If I knew that they didn't have an English menu, I wouldn't have wanted to come here in the first place. We didn't really know that up until we sat down and asked for an English menu. Although the waiters were kind enough to translate some of the items for us, we would still prefer it better if they also offered an English menu or at least English translation. Other than that, the food was actually pretty good.. it's a tad bit pricey but it's not that bad. I would definitely come back here to try their other stuff, if of course they translate their menu to English.

Baby Bok Choy with Garlic - one of the best versions I've tried so far
Pan Fried Egg with Preserved Vegetables
Spare Ribs in Plum Sauce - not much meat and the sauce was so so
Pork Dumplings
Fish Ball Hot Pot
Taro Root Dessert

Neptune Wonton Noodle

Neptune Wonton Noodle is located on Ackroyd road by the same mall as Chapters and right beside their higher end restaurant Neptune Seafood Restaurant. Their food is similar in price and style to No.9's, Michigan's, Happy Date's and McKim's, which is cheap, good and reasonable. Besides that this place is also great for congee and late night dinners.

Braised Cod Fillet with Celery and Dry Bean Curd
Sauteed Spareribs with Pumpkin in Casserole
Salted Fish and Chicken with Tofu in Casserole - a bit smelly and has more tofu than chicken
Baby Vegetable with Fish Soup
Fried Egg with Preserved Vegetable
Honey Garlic Spare Ribs - I was expecting it to be more bones but I was surprised that it was actually meaty and good!
Sauteed Beef with Ginger and Pineapple - funny, there wasn't even any pineapple in the dish but there were tons of Ginger!

Rhino's Kitchen

Rhino's Kitchen is one of the many restaurants that Top Gun Group owns. Top Gun's restaurants are usually very well known for their quality of service and food however Rhino's Kitchen is a mix of both good and bad. They also have the noodle combo where you can choose your own soup, noodles and toppings but one of the things that I don't like about their noodle combo is that you are only allowed to choose three toppings and nothing more. Not only that, almost all of their soup choices practically taste the same (Maybe that's just me.. I still prefer deer garden's choices and soup better). The good side on the other hand is that some of their other dishes are better tasting. They're not the best ones but they're better than the noodles.. then again there's always room for improvement.

 Cream of Mushroom
Pumpkin and Tomato Soup, Rice Noodle, Enoki Mushroom, Pumpkins, Fish Cake
The pumpkin is still raw so it's still pretty hard to bite into.
The soup on the other hand is so so.
Roasted Rack of Lamb in Rosemary Sauce - surprisingly delicious
Baked Spaghetti with Cheese and Meat Sauce - not bad
Malaysia Spicy Soup, Flat Rice Noodle, Beef Tendon, Fish ball, Beef Brisket
 Pork Tenderloin
Spicy Soup, Instant Noodles, Fish Slices, Pumpkin, Fish Tofu Cube
The pumpkin is also very hard on this one and then the soup tastes bland, it seems like they just added in a tablespoon of chilli oil into their original soup.

White Spot (Richmond Center)

White Spot is a classic restaurant that I'm sure everyone has been to. I remember going there as a kid ordering one of my favorite meals, their Monty Mushroom burger with strawberry milkshake. Today however, we decided to head over to Richmond Center's White Spot for lunch to try out some of their new items in their 2012 comfort foods menu.

Tomato Soup
Asian Chicken Salad
Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Ciabatta
Dijon Bigger Burger

Guu (Aberdeen Center)

We've been having a lot of Japanese food lately and the most recent restaurant that we've been to is Guu in Aberdeen Center. I haven't been back to Guu in a while but it's always nice to see and feel the cheery and loud atmosphere whenever you walk into the restaurant.

Aberdeen Roll
S.S. Roll
Gin Dara
Kabocha Korokke (pumpkin croquette) - one of my favorites!
Beef Tataki Don
Salmon Tataki
3 Kinds of Gomae
Chicken Karaage
