Griffins (Fairmont Hotel Vancouver)

I haven't been back to Griffins in a while and all I can say is that it's still the same as how it was before, which is limited in options and pricey. Being a Sunday, they have their weekly brunch buffet that starts at 11:30 in the morning and ends at 2:30 in the afternoon. The price per head is $49 but if you look at the choices that they offer, it's not as worth going to compared to other buffet places like Flueri Restaurant's Sunday brunch at Sutton or perhaps Cafe Pacifica's at Pan Pacific. Although Griffins charges around the same price as Sutton's and Pan Pacific's buffet, the taste and choices aren't bad, the options are just fewer than most hotel buffets. Of course being a five star hotel restaurant, you would have a higher expectation of quality and taste from this place. I've been to Griffins how many times now in the past few years, and there's still always something dry in their buffet options. I guess it could have something to do with how they cook the food, sometimes it's their fish that's dry or it's in one or two of their meat options. Besides their appetizer and main course, their main feature here is actually their dessert buffet. I was more satisfied with their dessert than with their main course options but it's more of a hit or miss kind of situation. The desserts looked really amazing but not all of them taste really good. All I can say is that for the price that your paying here, there are other places that's better in taste, quality and variety.
